Important Note about my MSWL:

The elements, genres, and tropes listed below for my wish list are all things I'm looking for and would love to see, but ultimately, it is the specific premise, the writing, the storytelling, and the execution that will help me decide whether I'm a good match for your project.

I know it's tough to submit to an agent when your project seems to match their MSWL only for them to pass on the project - but all of these elements (not just the premise, trope, and genre) are critical and part of my decision-making process.

First and foremost, I’m looking for manuscripts from all voices and backgrounds for the genres specified on my list. The following are projects I would be especially interested in.

​Even if your project does not fit the MSWL elements I list below, I would still love to see it if it falls into one of the genres I represent! The list of genres can be found on my Submissions page or on Query Tracker.

Note that I ONLY represent ADULT projects. I don't represent children's books (Picture Books, Middle Grade, or Young Adult)

Romance

• Romantasy: I'm enjoying these in my submissions box and looking for just the right one (or two) to represent!
• Romcoms: Romcoms with all the laughs and fun, especially secret identities/swaps, mistaken identities, nerdy romcoms, sports romcoms, sweet romcoms, romantic interests trapped together in some way--anything that makes me laugh and swoon and has oceans of romantic tension, and even heat! Note that I love both the sweet and the heat.
• Historical Romance:  Historical, Medieval, Regency, Victorian era romance, especially by and about BIPOC authors. For example, Rebel (Women who Dare) by Beverly Jenkins, and Ana Maria and The Fox by Liana De La Rosa.

Cozies / Mysteries / Thrillers

• Cozies and Mysteries: I love unique murders and mysteries to solve. I also enjoy both clever and lovable characters we can’t help but root for. I would love to get a locked room mystery -- this is at the top of my wish list. I'm a fan of both cozies and the more serious mysteries.
• Thrillers: I'm especially interested in psychological & heist thrillers at this time. I loved THE HOUSEMAID. But still open to looking at other sub-genres of thrillers such as sci-fi thrillers. 

Horror

• Cozy Horror: I’d love a haunted house cozy horror or a locked room horror.
• Space Horror: This is at the top of my wish list for horror. Somebody please send me a space horror, like ALIENS but of course different and unique but with an awesome cast of characters, a compelling plot, and all the chills and fear that comes with space.
• Psychological and  Social Horror: Unsettling horror where the protagonist can never quite get their bearings.

Science Fiction / Fantasy

• In fantasy, unique retellings and reimaginings of mythology and folklore from all over the world.
• Grounded on our world (and not too far in the future) science fiction with technology that will terrify humans and/or potentially make them extinct. "Grounded in our world and not too far in the future" being the key elements for this one.
• Space Operas/stories set in space like LEVIATHAN WAKES by James S. A. Corey (The Expanse).
• Military sci/fi – I would love to see it. (Planetside, The Misfit Soldier, as recent examples).

Additional notes:

• Strange family legends, strange towns, strange and atmospheric worlds, strange societies, strange laws, perhaps even dystopian, especially in mystery and horror.
• I love a lot of genre fiction, but the premise, strong writing, and execution will be what ultimately hook me.

Again, these are just some elements I’d be super interested in, and this is not an exhaustive list, so I hope you’ll query me!

Elements/genres I'm not as fond of:

While I'm not the best fit for the following, feel free to give me a try because ultimately, I don't know what may catch me by surprise, but just giving advance notice that I'll likely not connect to these types of stories as heartily.

• Paranormal:  While I’m not drawn to some types of paranormal elements (like werewolves - I've just never gravitated toward them), feel free to try me – I know that one day there may be a project with these that snags my attention. Note that I do like witches, ghosts, and vampires, and such, especially if done in a unique way!
• Super Heroes:  I’m not the best fit for super hero stories. I know they're popular and millions of people love them. I’ve just never been a very big fan, but again, feel free to try me.
• Contemporary Romance: I'm finding I'm not the best fit for the straight up more serious types of romance, such as contemporary romance. I'm more drawn to romance that has some additional element/genre blend, such as romcoms, historical romance, and romantasy.
